Let Us Pass Over
In this edition of Triumphal Feast, Elder Bryce tells us the story of how Jesus rebukes the wind and calms the sea demonstrating His sovereign power over all creation. This power is not limited to the natural creation. Just as Jesus told the disciples "Let us passover to the other side" of the lake, Jesus has said that we will, by the strength of the covenant of redemption pass over to glory!

You Are Free
In our continuing study of the four gospel accounts, we come to another instance where Jesus is confronted by the Pharisees for not observing "their sabbaths." In this edition, we learn from Jesus that we are free to good by the liberty we have in salvation by grace alone. Matthew 12:9-14; Mark 3:1-6; Luke 6:6-11

I Have No Man
We think we have power but whatever control we seem to have in our lives is temporary or an illusion. When it comes to our salvation, many object to the idea that we are powerless to save ourselves. The popular opinion that man must choose God first actually makes God powerless to save us unless we allow Him to. The lesson we find at the Pool of Bethesda shows us that to be powerless and admit we "have no man" to help us or any way to help ourselves is actually a blessing. Christ is the omnipotent Savior and reaches down for us when we cannot help ourselves!

Old and New
Triumphal Feast returns with a message in our ongoing study "More About Jesus." Recorded in the three synoptic gospels is this account where the Pharisees and some of John's disciples come questioning the disciples of Jesus. The Pharisees has a tradition of scheduled days of fasting that Jesus' disciples did not observe. Rather than fasting, they were feasting! Jesus uses a series of parables to explain why His disciples should be feasting rather than fasting. The conclusion is – you cannot mix old traditions with new revelation. The bridegroom is here so why should we return to old practices?

The Galilean Ministry
In this edition of Triumphal Feast, Elder Bryce takes us through the miracles and teachings of Jesus in Galilee. As usual God does not do things man's way. Instead of choosing the popular and metropolitan venue of Jerusalem, Jesus is called to teach and minister among the Galileans in small towns and sometimes with only individuals. This pattern of ministry is the example for us in our personal ministry. We do not need a big show. We just need to be doing the will of the Father with the gifts He has given us in the place where He has sent us. Special Note: I apologize for the 60 Hz hum on this recording. We had a ground go bad on one our auditorium microphones. If you are able to EQ your playback, simply turn down 60Hz and the hum will disappear.

The calling is found in Matthew 4:18-22, Mark 1:16-22, and Luke 5:1-11. All three gospel accounts show that these early disciples of Jesus were astonished by His teachings and forsook all to follow Him. Elder Bryce preaches from the account recorded in Luke where a few more details are given including the miracle of the huge draught of fishes.

He Must Increase
After the Baptism of Jesus, John's ministry continues. However, his numbers begin to decrease while the number of Jesus' disciples increases. In fact, some of Jesus' first disciples come from John's followers. Many, including John's disciples, begin to notice this pattern and so they come to John asking what is wrong. Rather than complaining, John responds that this phenomena was the whole point of his ministry as the forerunner. In all things, we must decrease and Jesus must increase!

It's Not About You
This week's edition of Triumphal Feast returns to the conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus as it is recorded in John Chapter 3. Rather than a conversation we find that it is more of a rebuke of the religion of the Pharisees of whom Nicodemus was a teacher. Jesus refutes the man-centered doctrines of these men and promotes the truth of man's helpless estate without the grace of God. He also gives an accurate picture of the character of the Messiah and what He will accomplish for God's children not only among the Jews but "whosoever" they are in every nation.

Ye Must Be Born Again
In John chapter 3, Nicodemus comes to Jesus by night and is probably quite surprised by the rebuke he receives from the Lord. Jesus chides Nicodemus for being a teacher of the law and not understanding the basic principle of the depravity of man. Jesus tells Nicodemus that the Pharisees' doctrine is wrong. Man cannot achieve heaven by blood relation to Abraham or by knowing the law more completely. The only way that anyone will see heaven is if they are born of the Spirit of God by His irresistible grace!

Come and See
This edition of Triumphal Feast continues in our study through the gospels. Today we will learn about the first few disciples of Jesus and see Jesus and some of those disciples demonstrate for us the true nature of Biblical evangelism. There are a few instances of large scale conversions such as the Day of Pentecost, but by far the normal pattern of evangelism we find in the New Testament is one believer sharing his experience with another person and then inviting him to come and see for himself what great things the Lord has done!

This episode recalls the account given by Luke of Jesus remaining behind in Jerusalem after the Passover Feast. From Great Fear To Great Joy - Part 2
Today's edition of Triumphal Feast is the conclusion of the message "From Great Fear to Great Joy." Earlier we saw veteran shepherds almost trembling in terror at the site of an angel of God suddenly appearing in the midst of them. However, after hearing the message of the angel, the shepherds' fear is suddenly turned into joy. They hear the gospel message that their Savior has been born and He is close by. After one of the most spectacular displays of the armies of heaven in song, the shepherds, with haste, go find Jesus exactly how the angel said He would be. The shepherds then return to their flocks recounting the gospel to one another and eventually to everyone that will hear them.

From Great Fear To Great Joy
In today's edition of Triumphal Feast, we begin looking at the account of the angel's visit to the shepherds keeping their sheep in the field the same night that Jesus was born. These veteran shepherds, who had experience in fighting off wolves, lions, and other predators, met with a much greater power that night. The angel of God came upon them suddenly and towered over them. This caused the shepherds to almost freeze in terror. Being in the presence of one of the Lord's army and having the glory of God shine upon them, the shepherds knew they were helpless and bowed before the majesty and holiness of God.

Knots in Jesus' Family Tree - Part 2
In part 2 of the message "Knot's in Jesus' Family Tree," Elder Bryce points out some of the more shady characters in the genealogy of Jesus. His family is like our families. It has some honorable ancestors and some relatives that we would probably rather forget. Rather, than this being a mark against Jesus' character, it actually points to an amazing blessing for people who come from broken families or broken lives. These "knots" remind us that Jesus came to bless poor sinners like you and me.

Abraham Goes South - Part 2
There is a common misunderstanding about being all in for the Lord. Some people think that it means you never make a mistake. Abraham’s case shows that is simply not true. The key to remember is being all in means you put Christ at the center of your life, and when you find yourself going south, turn around and head back to the Savior.

Step One: Let's Go! - Part 2
In Part 2 of "Step One: Let's Go!", Elder Bryce contrasts the great start of Abraham with the very reluctant beginning of Moses. Both men were used by the Lord in a mighty way, but Moses was very slow to get going. Being all in for the Lord does not mean we will never make mistakes. However, a good start will give us more courage and greater fellowship with God in our journey.

Welcome
Brentwood Hills Primitive Baptist Church is a community of believers working together to transform our lives to the image of Jesus Christ. We believe it is our duty and privilege to live the gospel of the doctrines of grace in such a way as to edify the families within our church and other children of God in our community. Through regular worship based on strong Biblical principles, fellowship, admonishment, and outreach, we glory in the grace of the sovereign God working in our lives thereby showing the Spirit of God in the world.
Brentwood Hills was organized in 1906 in Fort Worth, Texas as Laodicea Primitive Baptist Church. You can find much of the history of the church, as well as other churches here: Primitive Baptist History Database
We identify ourselves as an old-line Primitive Baptist church. If you read our Articles of Faith, you’ll see that we hold to such doctrines as the inspiration and inerrancy of the Bible. We recognize the King James Version (KJV) as the only English translation worthy of being called the Bible. We believe in salvation solely by the grace of a sovereign God. We believe that Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, came to the earth to do the will of His Father, which was to deliver from the sentence of death all those the Father gave Him before the world began. We believe that Jesus fully satisfied the Father by atoning for all the sins of all His people. In time, we believe the Holy Spirit comes to each person that belongs to Jesus and regenerates them. Then (and only then) can anyone have faith, which is a fruit of the Spirit, by which you are able to believe the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. Whether or not you ever hear the gospel, or believe it if you did hear it, or obey it if you did believe it, rest assured that Jesus will remain forever faithful to you because, if He died for you, He will never deny that you belong to Him.
We believe that everyone for whom Christ died will without fail be raised again from the dead to a glorified life. Even if we are alive when He returns to raise the dead, we shall be changed to a glorified life. All the Redeemed will meet the Lord in the air. Then He will take us to Heaven and there we shall forever be with the Lord. The wicked will be raised at the same time as the righteous, but the wicked shall go away into everlasting punishment along with Satan and his angels. Until that glorious day when Christ returns to raise the dead, He has provided a place for His people to find rest for their souls. This place is the Church. Jesus Christ set-up His church on this earth before His death on the Cross. The church is there for those of His people who have come to believe that God saved them by His Son, Jesus Christ. To believe that Christ “paid it all” gives believers the strongest motivation to serve Him. Once enlightened to this glorious truth, then the child of God should feel an obligation to become and remain an active member of the His church. To serve the Lord in His church makes for one of the great blessings to experience this side of Heaven. It fulfills you to serve in His church and it gives your life purpose and meaning.
